Patriotic Poem

“Battle Hymn of the Republic”

Mine eyes have seen the glory
Of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage
Where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning
Of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

Chorus
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watchfires
Of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar
In the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence
By the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

Chorus
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet
That shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men
Before His judgement seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him;
Be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.

Chorus
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom
That transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy,
Let us die to make men free;
While God is marching on.

Chorus
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

My India!

“O My Nation My India”
Wants to worship you
Wants to be stuck on you
Everything which is mine
Wants to sacrifice on you
Way of life it amid you
Name of your, strength me
Fame of your, arrogant me
How I am gratitude to god
That he gave birth on the
Planet of your “O India”
I always feel to be proud
That you give me a peaceful
Place in your heart “O India”
Always salute you!
Always salute you!

Patriotic Poem in English for India

We all are Indians first

History is our witness,
and martyrs are the god,
We are disciples of Gurus,
this land is saints’ abode.
Compassion is our heritage;
in humanity do we trust,
Neither Hindu nor Muslim,
we all are Indians first.

Diversity is our culture,
and unity is our strength,
We strive for Peace of world,
but are cautious of defence.
Challenger of our sovereignty,
for sure would bite the dust,
Neither Kannad nor Oriya,
we all are Indians first.

Perseverance is our Ethos,
and diligence is our means,
We pledge to usher-in dawn,
our ancestors saw in dreams.
We ain’t shy of hard-work,
for us Rest-is-Rust,
Neither Tamil nor Sindhi,
we all are Indians first…

I love My Nation

With Himalayas in the north
Indian ocean in the south
Arabian sea in the west
Bay of Bengal in the east.
I love my nation
With developed culture
And beautiful sculpture
The people have no rest
To do their work best.
I love my nation
They give us rice in ration
They dress in latest fashion
They do many inventions
Which are about fiction.
I love my nation
With number of hill station
Which are God’s creation
It give us protection
And save us from tension

Dear Indians

Today my dear fellowmen,
You will learn about some men,
Who are for their country,
More than just someone who brought them victory,
For when their nation was in danger,
their blood boiled in anger,

Without caring for their personal life,
They left their parents,children,and wife,
And off they went like real heroes,
To make the enemy feel like zeroes,
These men had muscles like Iron,
And had the hearts of a Lion,

When the enemy faced these men,
The enemy didn’t know where to go then,
For one of these men,
Was enough for the enemies then,
The enemy then ran away like rats,
Like rats run after seeing the cats,

Thus these men saved the country,
Giving it a proud victory,
The heroes of this story,
Work for the world’s best military,
These are the great and ever victorious,
Our Proud Indian Armed Forces!

Heart Touching Patriotic Poem In English

The Gift Of India

Is there ought you need that my hands withhold,
Rich gifts of raiment or grain or gold?
Lo ! I have flung to the East and the West
Priceless treasures torn from my breast,

And yielded the sons of my stricken womb
To the drum-beats of the duty, the sabers of doom.
Gathered like pearls in their alien graves
Silent they sleep by the Persian waves,

Scattered like shells on Egyptian sands,
They lie with pale brows and brave, broken hands,
they are strewn like blossoms mown down by chance
On the blood-brown meadows of Flanders and France.

Can ye measure the grief of the tears I weep
Or compass the woe of the watch I keep?
Or the pride that thrills thro’ my heart’s despair
And the hope that comforts the anguish of prayer?

And the far sad glorious vision I see
Of the torn red banners of victory?
when the terror and the tumult of hate shall cease
And life be refashioned on anvils of peace,

And your love shall offer memorial thanks
To the comrades who fought on the dauntless ranks,
And you honour the deeds of the dauntless ones,
Remember the blood of my martyred sons!

Short Patriotic Poem in English

On the Freedom of the Press

While free from Force the Press remains,
Virtue and Freedom chear our Plains,
And Learning Largesses bestows,
And keeps unlicens’d open House.
We to the Nation’s publick Mart
Our Works of Wit, and Schemes of Art,

And philosophic Goods, this Way,
Like Water carriage, cheap convey.
This Tree which Knowledge so affords,
Inquisitors with flaming swords
From Lay-Approach with Zeal defend,
Lest their own Paradise should end.

The Press from her fecundous Womb
Brought forth the Arts of Greece and Rome;
Her offspring, skill’d in Logic War,
Truth’s Banner wav’d in open Air;
The Monster Superstition fled,
And hid in Shades in Gorgon Head;
And awless Pow’r, the long kept Field,
By Reason quell’d, was forc’d to yield.

This Nurse of Arts, and Freedom’s Fence,
To chain, is Treason against Sense:
And Liberty, thy thousand Tongues
None silence who design no Wrongs;
For those who use the Gag’s Restraint,
First Rob, before they stop Complaint.

…..Ben Franklin

The People’s Prayer

God bless our dear United States,
Preserve the land from evil fates,
Lift high her banner fair and free,
And guard her bounds from sea to sea.

From foe without and foe within,
From open shame and hidden sin,
From boastful pride and greedy store.
God keep our nation evermore.

Forever may her friendly hands
Receive the poor of other lands
In kindliness of sisterhood,
And fill their arms with ample good.

Assailed by battle hosts of wrong,
God help our country to be strong.
Assailed by falsehood’s crafty crew,
God help our country to be true.

God hold the nation’s aim sincere,
God save her heart from coward fear,
God prosper her in true success,
And crown her head with worthiness.

God bless our dear United States,
Preserve the land from evil fates,
Lift high her banner fair and tree,
And ever guard her liberty.

The Tyrants

The tyrants are on the loose again;
They hate all but their own.
They give their lives to kill us,
To scatter our blood and bone.

They care not whom they murder,
Whether woman, man or child;
Their minds are full of fury;
Their sickness has gone wild.

To rule the world with violence
Is their one and only goal;
Terror is their method;
They want complete control.

We’ve seen it all before,
And we could not let it be;
We gave our lives for freedom,
For the world, and for you and me.

We fight all forms of oppression,
Helping victims far and near,
To keep the world from chaos,
To protect what we hold dear.

America’s the only country
That gives with its whole heart,
And asks so very little;
We always do our part.

So let’s unite again
To subdue our newest foe,
Whatever we must do,
Wherever we must go.

Let’s show the world once more
That America is blessed
With people who are heroes,
Who meet each and every test.

Joanna Fuchs

Great, Strong, Free, and True

Great, my country, great in gold,
Great in riches manifold,
Great in store of vital grain,
Great in trade’s benign domain,
Ever great in kindly deed,
All your wealth for all that need.

Strong, my country, armed in might,
Bold in battle for the right,
Ready for the testing hour,
Knowing not to faint or cower,
And your valor all possessed
For the weaker and oppressed.

Free, my country, nobly free,
Gracious land of liberty,
Free in word and free in thought,
Freedom’s fabric freely wrought,
Free to break the chains that bind
Wretched millions of mankind.

True, my country, grandly true
To the task that calls for you,
True in peril’s dire despite
To the challenge of the right,
To the far ideal plan,
Ever true to God and man.

A Nation’s Strength

What makes a nation’s pillars high
And its foundations strong?
What makes it mighty to defy
The foes that round it throng?

It is not gold. Its kingdoms grand
Go down in battle shock;
Its shafts are laid on sinking sand,
Not on abiding rock.

Is it the sword? Ask the red dust
Of empires passed away;
The blood has turned their stones to rust,
Their glory to decay.

And is it pride? Ah, that bright crown
Has seemed to nations sweet;
But God has struck its luster down
In ashes at his feet.

Not gold but only men can make
A people great and strong;
Men who for truth and honor’s sake
Stand fast and suffer long.

Brave men who work while others sleep,
Who dare while others fly…
They build a nation’s pillars deep
And lift them to the sky.

……William Ralph Emerson

“Where the mind is without fear
and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been
broken up into fragments by
narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from
the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches
its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary
desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is lead forward by thee
into ever-widening thought and action-
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
let my country awake.”

Poem on Patriotism in English

My sleep got disturbed, thrice that day;
I could not sleep tho’ a holiday;
My mind was filled with thoughts unclear;
I got up in the morn, much earlier;
‘Twas India’s Independence Day!

Thunder, lightning filled the night’s Sky;
The day much overcast did fly;
The Rain was just a drizzle that day;
Wetted the ground of mud and clay;
‘Twas 15th of August, a rainy day.

The pea-birds howled and groaned that night;
The Rain made them shiver with fright;
Though ten, it looked like six in the morn;
The Sun behind the clouds had gone;
The Sky ground-glass remained that day.

The leaky tap-waters that fell,
Raised wavelets, ploppy-toned and swell;
Rain-drops on cables looked like pearls;
Dropped, formed again, enticing souls;
It looked it would rain long that day.

Rain-drops hanging beneath fir-twigs;
Glittered in the scarce light like figs;
The whole tree was aglow, alit;
A thing of beauty, don’t miss it!
The Sky looked like a barred-white board!

A frail, brown-skinned, bony human,
With sack on head, bent-back, he ran!
The Indian was agonizing!
Tho’ people keep sermonizing!
Fifty years after Independence!
What good was done for the common-man?

Country, My Country

Fair with the beauty of heaven on earth,
Noble with honor’s immutable worth,—
Other lands also are noble and fair,
Slaughter and ruin are ravaging there;
Country, my country, give ear to the call,
Guarding the beauty and honor of all.

Rich with the store of a bountiful soil,
Laden with fruit of invincible toil,—
Wealth of the world is in peril to day,
Riches of ages are lost in the fray;
Country, my country, obeying the call,
Lavish your wealth in the service of all.

Strong with a young and exhilarant power,
Brave in the dark of a desperate hour,—
Other lands also heroic and strong
Pour out their blood in the battle with wrong;
Country, my country, where myriads fall,
Venture your life for the lives of them all.

Free with a liberty blessedly bold
Born of the struggles of centuries old,—
Justice and liberty, law and the right,
All are at stake in the resolute fight;
Country, my country, let nothing appall,
Dare to be free for the freedom of all.

Patriotic Poem for Kids

Salute India , Salute Armed Forces

Let’s honor our Armed Forces,
The men and women who serve,
Whose dedication to our country
Does not falter, halt or swerve.

Let’s respect them for their courage;
They’re ready to do what’s right
To keep India safe,
So we can sleep better at night.

Let’s support and defend Indian soldiers,
Whose hardships are brutal and cruel,
Whose discipline we can’t imagine,
Who follow each order and rule.

Here’s to those who choose to be warriors
And their helpers good and true;
They’re fighting for Indian values;
They’re fighting for me and you

Jai Hind !

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say “thank you” to every wearer.

Colourful India

Our’s is a land of sages,
Known for bravery for ages.
None can with it compete,
Its culture none can beat.

Whatever caste or religion,
All live here in unison.
With rivers, sweet fountains,
it’s a land of high mountains.

Its green forests are pretty,
And are source of prosperity.
Let’s for it work hard,
For its safety, be on guard.

Independence Day

Patriotic Poem

On this Independence Day
we remember the years past.
We honor this very day

for our flag, old glory, has last.
On this Independence Day
two centuries ago, we

declared our independence
for justice and liberty.
Let us celebrate with joy and honesty

Happy Independence Day!!!

A Merdeka Poem

1957, 31st August
Remembered as the greatest
Our destiny for us cast
Nationhood gained at last.
With friends in Austria on a holiday
News of independence made our day

Tears of joy from us streaming
Happy but not fully understanding.
With full impact dawning
Woke us up to its full meaning
Tireless efforts of founding fathers
Tunku, step by step, did not falter.

Merdeka, seven times resounding
Malaya to this call awakening
Malays, Chinese, Indians all rejoicing
A new star in the eastern sky
A star of freedom rising high.
When all this happened, a long way away

Wished we were in Malaya that day
The National Anthem and Rukunegara
Binding us under God and a shining star.
Every sentiment having meaning
In all times sustaining
We are alive and well today

Because in harmony we live every day.
Best place in the world for unity
For our continued wellbeing and harmony
A beautiful land for all to see
With forests, rivers, beaches and seas.

Indian Patriotic Poems in English

My India is not safe

My India is not safe
because of the ministers craze
and he PM that they chase
but what about the problem that we face?

My India is not safe,
because of the ministers craze,
women have to bear,
but the ministers don’t hear,
I am feared,
We have to pay tears.

My India is not safe,
because of the ministers craze,
I am feared if they won in elections,
They don’t do anything in constitutions,
They don’t care neither about the
pollution nor about the population,

Before the elections we are their head,
after the elections they are their headache.

My India is not safe,
because of the ministers craze,
They make so many maze,
price is the highest and honesty is the lowest,
How will the change begin?
It is the honesty that we have to bring in.

My India is not safe,
because of the ministers craze,
Modi is completing its chores,
by reducing India’s holes,
I hope we all vote for them,
All of us not only men.

My India is not safe,
because of the ministers craze,
They are snatching our rights,
And you are still sitting quite,
please do something or they will
divide us into blacks and whites.

“Flowers of India”

We are the flowers of India,
Blooming all the way,
Across Geographies,
Like Flying Geese.

We spread our fragrance,
Of peace and harmony,
While helping people,
Out of pain and agony.

Our talent is,
No more a hidden story,
Witnessed the world,
With Well-structured glory.

Our heritage and culture,
Is precious and old,
Shining across the globe,
Like a bright sheen of gold.

Yes! We are the flowers of India,
Blooming all the way,
Across Geographies,
Like Flying Geese.

Dahine baen dahine baen, tham!
Nanha munna rahi hoon……

Dhoop mein pasina me bahauga jahan
Hare-bhare khet lahraenge vahan
Dharti pe paake na paayenge janam
Aage hi aage badhaunga kadam
Dahine baen dahine baaen, tham!
Nanha munna rahi hoon……

Naya hai zamana meri nai hai dagar
Desh ko banaunga mashino ka nagar
Bharat kisi se rahega nahi kam
Aage hi aage badhaunga kadam
Dahine baen dahine baen, tham!
Nanha munna rahi hoon……

Bada ho ke desh ka sahara banoongaa

Shanti ki nagari hai mera ye vatan
Sabako sikhaunga me pyaar ka chalan
Duniya mein girane na dunga kahin bam

Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo

Aye mere watan ke logo
Tumkhoob laga lo nara
Yeh subh din hain hum sabka
Leheron tiranga pyara

Pat mat bhoolon seema par
Veeron ne pran gawai
Kuch yaad unhe bhi kar lo
Kuch yaad unhe bhi kar lo
Jo laut ke ghar na aaye
Jo laut ke ghar na aaye

Aye mere watan ke logo
Zara aankh mein bhar lo paani
Jo shahid hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbaani

Aye mere watan ke logo
Zara aankh mein bhar lo paani
Jo shahid hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbaani

Jab ghayal hua Himalaya
Khatre mein padi aazadi
Jab tak thi saans lade woh
Jab tak thi saans lade woh
Phir apne laash bichadi

Sangeen Pe dhar kar maatha
So gaye amar balidani
Jo shahid hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbaani

Jab desh mein thi Diwali
Woh khel rahe the Holi
Jab hum baithe the gharon mein
Woh jhel rahe the goli

The dhanya javaan vo apne
Thi dhanya vo unki javaani
Jo shahid hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbaani

Koi Sikh, Koi Jatt, Maratha
Koi Sikh, Koi Jatt, Maratha
Koi Gurkha koi Madrasi
Koi Gurkha koi Madrasi

Sarhad par marne wala
Sarhad par marne wala
Har veer bharatwasi

Jo khoon gira parvat par
Woh khon tha hindustani
Jo shahid hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbaani

Thi khoon se lathpath kaaya
Phir banduk utha ke
Das das ko ek ne maara
Phir gir gaye hosh gawake

Jab ant samay aaya to
Jab ant samay aaya to
Keh gaye ke ab marte hain
Jab ant samay aaya to
Keh gaye ke ab marte hain

Khush rehna desh ke pyaron
Khush rehna desh ke pyaron
Ab hum to safar karte hain
Ab hum to safar karte hain

Kya log the woh dewane
Kya log the woh abhimani
Jo shaheed hue hain unki
Jara yaad karo qurbaani

Tum bhool na jaao unko
Is liye kahi yeh kahani
Jo shaheed hue hain unki
Zara yaad karo qurbaani

Ghurbat men hon agar ham rahta hai dil vatan men
Samjho vahin hamen bhi dil hain jahan hamara

Parbat voh sab se uncha hamsaya asman ka
Voh santari hamara voh pasban hamara

Godi men khelti hain is ki hazaron nadiya
Gulshan hai jin ke dam se rashk-e-janan hamara

Aye ab raud Ganga voh din hen yad tujhko
Utara tere kinare jab karvaan hamara

Mazhab nahin sikhata apas men bayr rakhna
Hindvi hai ham vatan hai Hindostan hamara

Yunan o misr o roma sab mil gaye jahan se
Ab tak magar hai baqi nam o nishan hamara

Kuch bat hai keh hasti milati nahin hamari
Sadiyon raha hai dushman daur e zaman hamara
