Two parrots made a nest in the banyan tree. He lived with his two children, whom he took good care of. Mother and father parrot went out to get food in the morning and came back home in the evening. One day, while their parents were away, the young parrots were taken by a cruel hunter.
One of the birds managed to escape and flew past the hunter. He ended up in a hospice and grew up hearing kind words and compassion. The hunter caged the other parrot and soon it learned a few words and phrases. The hunter and his family were stoic and didn’t care much for kind words.

One day a traveler was resting outside the hunter’s hut. The parrot seeing someone outside said, “Fool, why are you here? Fool! Leave! I will cut your throat”. Frightened, the traveler went on and on his way reached the hermitage where the other parrot was. The parrot of the hermitage said , “Welcome traveler. You are free to stay here as long as you wish.”
The traveler was surprised and told the parrot that he had found a similar parrot elsewhere and it was very cruel. How are you so kind?” The parrot replied, “He must be my brother. I live with sages and my brother lives with hunters. I learned the language of the hermit and my brother learned the language of the hunter. The company we keep decides who we will be”.
Moral:- If you want to be a good person, keep good company.
